Length is a floor-space decision
A battle rope loops around an anchor and comes back to you, so a 30 ft rope needs about 15 ft of floor from the anchor; a 40 ft rope needs 20; a 50 ft rope needs 25. For a one-car garage or a yard, 30 ft is the length. The 40 and 50 ft ropes are heavier and give longer waves; they are for people with the runway. The anchor is the renter's problem
A steel anchor bolted to a wall or floor is the gym answer and a landlord's no.
