Two kinds of dip bar
Independent pairs (Lebert EQualizer) are two separate steel bars. You set them at any width, use one alone for rows, and nest them together to store — the apartment answer. They can walk apart on a slick floor under a hard dip. Connected stations (Sportsroyals, Yes4All) join the two bars with a base so they cannot splay; they are the answer for weighted dips and for anyone who wants a rigid frame, and they own their footprint permanently.
The three by the numbers
| Bars | Type | Height | Width | Rated | Stores |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lebert EQualizer | Independent pair | 28.5 in. (XL 31 in.) | Any | 400 lb | Nests; 16 lb pair |
| Sportsroyals Dip Station | Connected | 4 settings, 31.9–37.8 in. | Fixed | 500 lb | No |
| Yes4All Dip Stand | Connected | 8 settings, to 38 in. | 10 settings, 18.5–25 in. | 500 lb | No |
Height: the spec that decides fit
A dip needs the bars high enough that at the bottom of the rep — upper arms parallel to the floor — your feet are off the ground with bent knees. For most people that is bars at about hip to lower-rib height, 28–36 in. The Lebert comes in sizes by user height (standard to 5 ft 10 in., XL over, XXL over 6 ft 2 in.); the stations adjust. Shorter users prefer the low settings of the Sportsroyals; taller users the 38 in. of the Yes4All.
Width: the spec people forget
Bars just wider than your shoulders (about 18–24 in. apart) put the load on the triceps and chest evenly; wider than that stresses the shoulders. Only the Yes4All adjusts width; the Lebert pair sets at any width by moving the bars; the Sportsroyals is fixed. If your shoulders have opinions, adjustable width is worth having.
Dips vs rings vs a tower
Rings hung from a doorway bar do dips with a freer shoulder path and cost less than any dip bar; a power tower adds dips to a pull-up bar in one frame. Buy a dedicated dip bar when you want a rigid, low station for weighted dips, rows and push-up variations — or when you have no bar to hang rings from. The rings vs bar page covers the trade.
How this list was built
We compared height and width adjustment, base design, rated load, weight and storage from the makers' listings, and scored on the dip bar rubric — stability and rated load 30%, footprint and storage 25%, adjustment 20%, grip 10%, value 15%. The Lebert leads because it is the only set a small apartment can put away; the Sportsroyals is the rigid pick; the Yes4All the adjustable pick. No bars tested.

Pick 1 · Dip bars
Lebert Fitness EQualizer (pair)
Lebert Fitness
Two independent 28.5 × 25 in. steel bars, 8 lb each, 400 lb capacity, that nest together for storage — the dip bars that fit under a bed and set up in five seconds.
Best for
Dips, rows and push-ups in an apartment where nothing can stay on the floor
Why it is #1. Two 8 lb bars rated 400 lb that nest together and slide under a bed. Dips, rows, push-ups, step-ups, and one bar alone for rows. Pick the size by your height. The apartment dip bar.
Pros
- Two separate bars — set them at any width, or use one for rows and step-ups
- Nest together and weigh 16 lb for the pair; store under a bed or in a closet
- XL (31 in.) and XXL sizes for users over 5 ft 10 in. and 6 ft 2 in.
Cons
- Independent bars can walk apart on a slick floor during dips — use a mat

Pick 2 · Dip bars
Sportsroyals Adjustable Dip Bar Station (500 lb)
Sportsroyals
A connected dip station with four height settings from 31.9 to 37.8 in., thickened steel tubes and a 500 lb rating — the stable choice for weighted dips in a garage corner.
Best for
Heavy or weighted dips where the bars must not move
The rigid one. A connected base, four heights from 31.9 to 37.8 in., thickened tubes, 500 lb. Nothing splays; weighted dips with a belt or vest are fine. Owns its floor.
Pros
- Connected base can't splay apart under load like two separate bars
- Four heights cover users from about 5 ft 4 in. to 6 ft 2 in.
- 500 lb rating leaves room for a vest or dip belt
Cons
- Doesn't nest or fold — it holds its footprint permanently
- Heavier to move than a pair of EQualizers

Pick 3 · Dip bars
Yes4All Dip Stand (500 lb, 80 levels)
Yes4All
Ten width settings (18.5–25 in.) by eight heights (to 38 in.), 500 lb rating, foam push-up handles built in — the most adjustable dip stand at the price.
Best for
Fitting the bar width exactly to your shoulders, or sharing between two people
The adjustable one. Ten widths from 18.5 to 25 in. by eight heights to 38 in., 500 lb, foam push-up handles built in. For dialing the bars to your shoulders, or sharing between two people.
Pros
- Width adjustment is the feature the others lack — narrow for triceps, wide for chest
- 38 in. max height suits taller users than the Sportsroyals
- Triangular welds, double hand screws, rubber feet
Cons
- More adjustment points means more to tighten and re-check
- Fixed footprint; doesn't nest

Buying guide
Pair or station?
Pair if the bars must store or you want rows off one bar. Station if you dip heavy or hate anything that moves.
Weighted dips
A weighted vest works on all three; a dip belt needs the clearance of a station or a tall Lebert.
FAQ
Questions readers ask
Are dip bars worth it?
If you can't hang rings and don't want a tower, yes — dips are the best pushing exercise you can do without weights. A nesting pair costs little and stores.
How high should dip bars be?
About hip to lower-rib height — 28–36 in. for most adults — so your feet clear the floor with bent knees at the bottom of the rep.
Do dip bars move during dips?
Independent pairs can creep on a slick floor; put a mat under them. Connected stations don't.
Dip bars or a power tower?
A tower if you also need a pull-up bar and have the floor; dip bars if you have a doorway bar already and want dips that store.
